I had the opportunity to spend some time in Montana with extended family over the past week. While there I got to experience a winter snow storm (did you know there’s something called “snow showers”?? I did not). I got to help around the house and I got to paint a mural in their powder bathroom!!! My sis-in-law told me the colors she wanted and we looked through Pinterest a bit and then I went for it. Almost all of the colors she wanted were coincidentally on the “oops” shelf at the local hardware store (all 9 colors except 1 we had to have mixed)…. And here it is! We added a chair rail as the final touch! The last project that I was supposed to finish last week is done!! Whew! Sorry it took so long Veronica!! But look at how pretty she is!! I used old cedar planks from my clients backyard that she had originally purchased to use in her garden. I built the sign and will hang it on the remaining planks this week. The sign is in memory of her mom, Mary and her love of gardening and specifically the passion flower vines she would grow. There’s lots of symbolism in here (y’all know how much I love that stuff!!!) from the monarchs to the cardinals to the hummingbird in the bottom left corner and the pink mandeville flowers. Even the colors I chose have symbolism! The sign measures 24x48 inches. I LOVE commissions like this. They allow me to create something beautiful out of someone else’s memories or feelings. I am thankful that I was trusted with this treasure 💗 What can I paint for you?
